This week, meet Loïc Barrière, Product & Quality Engineer within the JPAC team.

What is your role at JPAC?

At JPAC, I work as a Product & Quality Engineer!

What does a Product & Quality Engineer do?

The Product & Quality Engineer scouts new suppliers, develops and selects products that could be suitable for our clients, and also oversees all ongoing JPAC projects. They ensure that the products we sell meet all quality standards so that our customers are fully satisfied. They also make sure that all quality documentation is up to date.

What skills are required for your role?

Adaptability, autonomy, high standards, and curiosity! You need to be able to handle both product-related and quality-related tasks while juggling the unexpected!

Can you tell us about your career path?

After two years of preparatory classes, I joined ENSAT in Toulouse. During my four years at school, I learned a lot through classes, internships, as well as during my gap year in Asia and Erasmus in Norway. I came out of it all grown up and ready for the professional world—JPAC offered me my first job.

Why did you choose to go into the agri-food industry?

Quite simply because I’m a big foodie!

What does a typical day look like for you?

There’s no such thing as a typical day at JPAC! Every day is stimulating, and I have to manage many product and quality tasks at once. But one thing’s for sure—there’s no time to get bored at JPAC.

What motivates you in your work? What drives you?

What drives me and motivates me to get up every morning is being challenged by the many tasks and variety of missions. And of course, the JPAC team, who are always there with a smile!

Do you have a work-related anecdote to share?

My hiring at JPAC! Interview on Friday morning, hired Friday afternoon, and my first day at JPAC the following Monday.

Why did you choose to work at JPAC?

Because the tasks seemed very interesting and diverse, the company’s goals were challenging, and also because of the JPAC team!

What’s your favorite JPAC product?

JPAC’s 500g Pork Ribs.

What’s your ideal meal?

Starter: Deviled Eggs

Main Course: Duck confit with Sarlat-style potatoes and a glass of Malbec

Dessert: Chocolate mousse
